Get energized at NB Power’s 2nd annual efficiency conference and awards

2019-02-08

Fredericton, N.B. – Following the success of the inaugural conference in 2018, which attracted 250 participants from more than 100 different organizations, NB Power will host the second annual Energizing Efficiency Conference and Efficiency Excellence awards, in Moncton on May 7-8, 2019 at the Delta Beauséjour Hotel.

This year’s agenda will include two widely acclaimed keynote speakers, Suzanne Shelton, CEO of the Shelton Group, the leading marketing communications agency in the U.S focused exclusively on energy and the environment and Mark Jewell who is an internationally recognized subject matter expert, coach, speaker and Wall Street Journal bestselling author focused on selling building-related solutions.

“We are pleased to bring in engaging and inspiring calibre speakers and welcome energy efficiency leaders from New Brunswick and beyond to learn, celebrate and network with the aim to help more of New Brunswick’s home and business owners save energy and money while lowering our carbon footprint,” said NB Power’s President and CEO Gaëtan Thomas. “In 2018, through NB Power’s efficiency programs, homeowners and businesses in the province have realized over $9.5 million in energy savings.

Keynotes, panels and workshops will offer participants an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and strategies to implement right away, to connect with experts, explore business opportunities and learn from case studies in New Brunswick and beyond. Those working or studying in the energy efficiency, housing and environment sectors are encouraged to attend.

“The conference will be a springboard for all sectors to get involved and leverage energy efficiency for the benefit of the environment, the economy, and New Brunswick homeowners and businesses,” added Thomas. “NB Power brings the industry professionals from across North America to New Brunswick, so the cost associated with learning from these individuals is significantly less than going to an out-of-province conference so we encourage everyone to take advantage of this one of a kind opportunity in the province.”

As energy efficiency continues to gain momentum in the province, many New Brunswickers are showing great leadership in implementing measures to save energy and demonstrating best practices in energy innovation. The Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards will recognize the achievements of these efficiency leaders in six categories.

Nominations for the 2019 awards will be accepted until March 22 and awards will be presented during the conference on May 7. Nominations are encouraged in the following categories:
