Your to do list and our to do list can impact the date of connection. Once these requirements are met and we receive final confirmation from Technical Inspection Services that service is ready for connection, we’ll provide the connection date by email if you’re signed up for updates, or you can call us at 1 800 663-6272 to confirm your connection date. The date provided is based on our current workload and the type of work required in the field.
- A connection fee is charged for all initial service connections including metered Temporary Facilities.
- Multiple metered installations, e.g., apartment buildings; the connection fee applies to the service for the common area. If there is no separate service for the common area, this charge applies to the first service connected. The remainder of the initial connections in multiple metered premises will be charged the service call fee and not the connection fee.
- NB Power's standard distribution facilities are for front lot overhead service.
- Additional charges will apply for your Wiring Permit. These charges are not issued by NB Power and are from the Department of Public Safety. You will be responsible for covering these charges through your contractor. They will outline the permit costs for your specific project.
All other types of facilities are considered optional such as underground extensions, back lot service and choice of a route different from that selected by NB Power. NB Power requires an agreement relating to contributions in compliance with these options. This contribution will require additional charges and could affect your budget.
